At Trinity Vineyard, one of our core values is community. We express it like this:
“Authentic relationships are the primary expression of our love and compassion for each other. We seek to break down the barriers between people in order to make authentic relationships possible with every person.”
We encourage real community in at least three ways:
- Growth Groups – These are small groups that meet weekly for 10-12 weeks. One of their purposes is to provide an environment where people can make acquaintances and form friendships in a setting that encourages spiritual growth. Closer friendships can then be developed outside of the group meetings;
- After-service fellowship – Immediately after our Sunday service, everyone is invited downstairs for complementary coffee and snacks. Frequently, a special person or event is celebrated with cake;
- Special events – These are special gatherings designed to further develop our community. Recent events include a Dessert Night, Chili Cookoff, Soup Sundays, a Fish Fry, a Bikes and Brats Picnic, our Annual Picnic, several outdoor movies, and a camping trip. Coming in October is our church retreat.
This is so important to us that we have a Community Life Director, Anita Hanlon.
