Service to the Community

We help under-resourced children

Trinity Vineyard was invited to help Fox Valley Christian Action (FVCA) minister to under-resourced children in our area doing hands-on camp activities. We took advantage of this opportunity by sending a team of 6 volunteers (on June 8-10, 2021) to work alongside FVCA staff to supervise children ages 6-12 as they participated in camp activities including canoeing, biking, nature walks, sports & games, arts & crafts, chapel and Bible lessons. The day camp took place at the amazing 85-acre FVCA campus in St. Charles. For more information about FVCA, visit www.fvchristianaction.org. (If we do this volunteer ministry again in 2022, consider joining us.)

We are working to help desperate people

We partner with Courtside Ministries to offer prayer for people every Wednesday morning outside the Kane County Courthouse.
(See courtsideministries.org.)
Courtside Ministries mission is to enable people working in or going in and out of courthouses to experience the love, grace and power of Jesus Christ by inviting His presence through prayer. We desire to see people encouraged through hope, strengthened through prayer, guided by the Bible, helped by the community, reconciled to each other, and forgiven through Christ.

We are working to help those in poverty

We partner with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to offer help to those caught in a desperate financial situation or would like to avoid a desperate financial situation. This effort has been delayed from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic.
(See capuk.org.)
The CAP Money Course is a revolutionary money management course that gives delegates the opportunity to learn skills that have a lasting impact on their finances. It’s designed for anyone who wants to take control of their finances.

We are working to help the homeless

We partner with a local homeless shelter, Lazarus House, by providing an evening meal for all their guests on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
(See lazarushouse.net.)
Lazarus House helps people in need find the shelter, food and other support services they need to get back on their feet.

We are working to help the aged

We provide a monthly worship service to the residents in the memory care unit at Brighton Gardens, a senior living facility in St Charles.
(See sunriseseniorliving.com/communities/brighton-gardens-of-st-charles/overview.aspx.)

We are working to help the incarcerated

During our December visit at the Illinois Youth Center, we enjoy some conversation and interaction with the guys, sing a few Christmas songs with them, and give them homemade cookies. These guys get few (if any) visitors, and these will likely be the only homemade cookies they get, so this is a pretty significant event to them. We pray they will experience God’s love.
(See www2.illinois.gov/idjj/Pages/St_Charles_IYC.aspx.)

We are working to help our community

We participate in an annual festival in St Charles by offering free bottled water and prayer to people passing by our booth. Over the last two years, we handed out 7,200 bottles of water!
(See scarecrowfest.com.)
We also offer free hot chocolate and cookies just outside our church building during the annual Electric Christmas Parade.
(See stcharlesil.gov/events/festivals-and-special-events/holiday-homecoming-lighting.)

We are working to help the wider church

We participate in Love Fox Valley with other churches and ministries.
The Master Objective of the Love Fox Valley is to coordinate and network the mutual efforts of Christian Churches to mobilize in united prayer, caring for the needy and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to better welcome and sustain a greater move of the Holy Spirit on the Fox River Valley of Illinois.
We also pray with local pastors in the Tri-Cities Pastors Prayer Group.

We are working to help people seeking God

Twice a year we host an Alpha group, where people are invited to explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Each group meets weekly for 11 weeks and includes dinner. Everyone’s opinion is respected.
(See alphausa.org or see trinityvcf.org/alpha)

We help people in Mexico

We have sent a missionary, Henry, to help with Mexican missions. Henry does most of his ministry in a poor colonia of Reynosa, where he ministers to kids and helps residents with home and car repairs. He does his work under the supervision of the founder of Vineyard Ministries Central Mexico, Fred Collum. Additionally we financially support the ministry of Vineyard Ministries Central Mexico and over the years we have sent short term mission teams to minister with them in the Mexican cities of Reynosa, Mazatlan, Fresnillo, and Zacatecas.

We also support other organizations and minstries, local and global

We support International Justice Mission, the largest anti-slavery organization in the world.
(See ijm.org.)
We support Fox Valley Christian Action in their service to under-resourced communities, especially the children.
(See fvchristianaction.org.)
We support the Salvation Army for their work in the community.
